This group class series at the Philosophical Research Society will begin teaching bases for the internal martial art practice called Baguazhang.
Baguazhang, the most mystical of the internal martial art systems, applies Chinese philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine to a high level martial movement practice. It harness wisdom from Taoist and Buddhist principles dating back to the founder of Shaolin Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism. The practice strengthens the body as a whole and focuses on tendons, joints and fascia. It is a powerful tool that combats any type of emotional and body ailments because it teaches how to fight with the spirit.
New students are welcome, no experience is necessary. Adults of all ages are welcome including those with movement limitations. Everyone can benefit from the teachings.
Context for the practice, including Chinese medicine bases will be provided as well as a presentation of the lineages and the instructor.
The upcoming session will teach theoretical and practical bases of internal martial arts still postures and movement.
