Everyone has the potential to self-heal either physically or emotionally.
Western medicine is a blessing for emergencies but what about everyday health and living? Many cannot afford to go to a doctor, chiropractor or psychologist each day or each week; fortunately, this is still not the only alternative. Non-western ways of knowing rely on self care, self-healing and self-medication, which ultimately makes sense. How, for instance do non domestic animals heal? They eat special plants, foods and rest in ways that will procure their quick recovery. This wisdom to self-heal is still accessible through medicine people and those who have learned and cultivated that power and wisdom throughout generations. Thanks to a great lineage of monks and martial artists we can still learn some of the secrets to longevity, abundance of being and self healing as an everyday way of living.
On Isuini and Martial Healing
The training focuses on self-healing aspects of the internal martial art of Baguazhang. Center, balance and grounding are core aspects of the practice . They are necessary not only for effective self-healing and combat but also for a larger strategy to navigate through life in the highest and most truthful manner. Native medicine pathways are also part of Isuini’s pedagogy as original instructions that sustain and pass down a deep wisdom of humanity connected to the elements. The root of martial arts and Native medicine pathways are parallel strategies of walking in beauty on the Earth. Combined, these two pathways are a potent source of guidance within and without us for today’s urgent healing.
